Pragyan, the ISO 9001:2008-certified techno-management festival of the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchi, has been given ISO 20121:2012 certification for sustainability in event management. Pragyan, which first got certified for quality management in 2012 has taken a giant leap in implementing sustainability in all its events with the help of Altus Consultancy Services FZE, according to a communication from the organisers of the event.
The certification will bring best international practices in event management to NIT, Tiruchi. By cutting down on plastic waste, paper waste, electricity consumption, and maximising recycling and reuse of materials, the event covering various branches of technology, exhibitions and guest lectures will become greener and more environmental friendly, the release added.
Pragyan will be conducted from March 6 to 9 at the NIT this year.
